Cuddeback has been around for over 25 years producing high quality cameras. Their focus has always been on top of line products, so you won’t find a whole lot of bargain prices but you can expect a quality product around $100 and their cameras are in line for pricing verses the competition. They are a US based company which can be a big factor for some folks looking to keep their dollars spent with companies in the US. Always high quality products and I’ve had really good experiences with their products and customer support over the years. They offer three ranges of products:
White Series: Base level models which still boast an excellent 0.5 sec trigger speed and are in the range of 8 mega pixels for image quality.
Silver Series: Mid-level cameras that compete with all other brands. They offer 0.25sec trigger speed, a whopping 20MP image quality and a number of advanced features.
Blue Series: Same 0.25 sec trigger speed and 20MP image quality but tons of options and extras that make this line the top of the line for Cuddeback.
IR Plus (Model 1309)
The IR Plus is a White Series camera for Cuddeback that has 8MP image quality, 0.5sec trigger speed with 1sec recovery speed to take your next picture. Cuddeback boasts that their cameras can take 2 pictures in the time that a lot of products take one. The camera leverages IR technology for taking night pictures which means that there is a slight red glow when the image of the animal is shot. The camera has a 75ft range and a battery life that is averaged out to about 6-8 months or 10,000 pictures.

Long-Range IR® (Model 1224)
This model is Cuddebacks top selling IR camera. It has quicker trigger speed from the IR Plus model at 0.25 seconds, a wider range which goes out to 100ft and a super high quality 20MP images that are hard to beat in the competition for this price point. The camera also has a number of advanced features from the base model which include zone control, day/night delay and time lapse modes. I love this product and it’s a great value for the quality in that $150 dollar range.

Black Flash® (Model 1231)
Silver Series camera featuring the 0.25sec trigger speed and 20MP image quality. Similar product to the Long Range IR model but key difference is that the Black Flash has a different technology for flash so it is invisible to the game. You lose some range with this model at night as it is effective up to 50 feet verses the 75-100 feet range of the IR cameras but some people will take that in order to avoid the red glow of the IR cameras when snapping pics. This ends up being more of a preference than anything to the individual buying the camera.
X Change™ Color, X-Change IR
and X-Change Black Flash (Model 1279, 1248 and 1255)
The X‑Change Color model camera has a concept that is completely unique to Cuddeback. With this camera, you have the ability to interchange flash hardware so it can be color, IR or Black Flash. This means that you have capability for the camera to function as three different types of game cameras from a single product. Depending on which model you purchase the other hardware for flashes are sold separately so there could be additional cost if you’d like to have different options. This is a blue-series camera that has the same specs as previous models in the silver series with 0.25 trigger speed and 20MP image quality along with numerous setup and configuration options.
