The SpyPoint Link EVO comes with a 12 megapixels sensor and with 4G connectivity. You are no longer required to go through memory cards, adapters, cables and other physical choices to transfer data. Now you can do it by using the 4g technology and transfer the pictures directly to your smartphone.
The good news is that the camera already comes with a pre-activated SIM card and will allow you to start using it as soon as possible. What this means is that with a monthly plan, you can have the pictures transmitted to you directly. The first 100 pictures are free of charge.
- 4G technology
- Pre-activated SIM card
- Free transfer for 100 pictures
- 3 trigger speed
- No sound recording
With 4G connectivity, the camera is truly oriented towards the users who need the fastest data transfer using mobile technology. To set up the system, you need to insert the pre-activated SIM card into the device and download the official smartphone app. Once the app is installed, you will be ready to go and select a monthly data plan. If you select no plan, you can still receive up to 100 free pictures.
The camera doesn’t come with sound recording but it is capable of delivering HD quality videos. The multi-shot mode is also quite limited as the camera can only deliver two consecutive shots with the function.
But the good news is that you can have a good range with the flash which covers up to 90 feet for good long-distance photos. The 12 megapixels sensor uses 42 LED lights to power the flash during night-time photos. The flash is among the most powerful from the manufacturer and this is why it is recommended or users who truly value night-time images.
The design of the camera allows for a quick setup. Although it doesn’t come with the solar panel, the camera can still be energy efficient if you connect an external battery through the 12V adapter.
With multiple card options, the camera is well suited to perform high quality shots and store them to either an SD or SDHC memory card. One of the areas of the design which could have seen an improvement would have been with a built-in microphone, but users will have to accept images only.
The Spy Point Link-EVO is a potent camera which can deliver good results in the right hands. Of course, its major feature comes with the 4G technology. And if you’re trying to decide on the camera you should decide on this technology and if it is something you would truly need. If you need 4G data transfer there are not too many options to choose from anyway. One the downside, the camera lacks a microphone and a screen. But if you are not looking for these features there is no reason to pass the camera since it has a good sensor and it can take long-range phots. Even more, there are plenty of accessories you can get for the device.
